A convicted drug smuggler, Russian billionaire and world famous singer are among the high-profile clients chauffeured by a transport company before it collapsed. 

Brunel Chauffeur Drive and JetBlack Limousines Pty Ltd went into liquidation on July 13, owing $11.7 million to more than 100 creditors.

The Sydney-based company offered premium passenger transport in every state capital as well as the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Cairns.

It's understood Brunel was the chauffeur service which transported famous convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby home when she returned to Australia from Bali in 2017, sparking a wild media car chase.

Corby left Brisbane Airport in one of 12 black vehicles which left the terminal in separate directions, sending media on a wild goose chase across the city after almost a decade behind bars and three years on parole in Bali.

More than a third of the company's debts are owed to staff with a redundant limo driver breaking his silence to reveal his long list of clients. 

Russian billionaire Vladimir Lisin, singer/songwriter Bryan Adams and US pastor/televangelist Creflo Dollar are among his past passengers.

Another driver was a long-time friend of Australian Olympic swimming legend Dawn Fraser with a selfie of the pair shared on the company's Facebook page in 2019.

Among Brunel's customers were multi-millionaires and billionaires along with corporate clients such as Emirates, Qantas, Shangri La and Four Seasons Hotels.

Former staff are now wondering how the business fell apart with its lengthy list of high profile clients.

'This company had such potential,' one former driver told 'I got good jobs.'

When Mr Lisin visited the Gold Coast, the driver was tasked with meeting the Russian oligarch's private jet on the tarmac at Coolangatta.

He then spent three 18 hour days being paid $44 an hour, mostly waiting in his car outside the casino waiting for the businessman ranked 76th richest in the world.

'We used to get people like that, I don't know why they couldn't make money, they just couldn't keep it right,' the driver recalled.

He also recalled the day he had Matt Damon's stepdaughter in the back seat and received a $100 tip from the Hollywood actor afterwards. 

But not all jobs were as lucrative with the driver claiming he was often paid as little as $11 per hour.

The employee claims he's owed $3000 in unpaid wages which he's spent three years chasing, adding that the company was 'always behind' with paying staff.

There was only $8.17 left in Brunel's bank account when Michael Hogan and Christian Sprowles from insolvency firm HoganSprowles took over as liquidators.

It's understood Brunel Chauffeur Drive had been struggling for some time, with its financial problems dating back to the 2019-20 Black Summer Bushfires

The company made a number of staff redundant several months later as the Covid-19 pandemic hit. 

The collapse of the company has left 107 creditors owed a total of $11.7 million, according to liquidation documents.

The ATO seeks $5.1 million in unpaid taxes going as far back as five years.

The company's website and Facebook remains active as of Thursday afternoon.
